First Dog Show at Tantia University
Tantia University organized its first large-scale Dog Show on Saturday in the campus premises. The event was arranged by the Faculty of Veterinary Science and the Tantia Cow Farm, attracting around 160 dogs from more than 20 different breeds.
The show was inaugurated by Chairperson Sunita Tantia, who marked the opening by releasing balloons. She stated that the university is actively promoting innovation in education, healthcare, and agriculture, and hosting such a large-scale dog show is a new initiative for the region.
The Chief Guest, Abohar MLA Sandeep Jakhar, highlighted the important role of animal husbandry in strengthening the rural economy and encouraged people to adopt stray dogs.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. M. Saxena, who attended as the Guest of Honour, said that such events help students gain practical exposure and create new employment opportunities.
The event was presided over by Organizing Chairman and Dean Dr. R. P. S. Baghel, who welcomed the guests. They were presented with bouquets made from colorful cauliflower, and a souvenir publication was also released on the occasion.
Kamaljeet Singh Sudan delivered the vote of thanks, while the program was conducted by Dr. P. C. Acharya.

Several popular dog breeds participated in the competition, including German Shepherd, Labrador, Pomeranian, Pug, Rottweiler, Bulldog, Shih Tzu, American Bully, Pakistani Bully, Beagle, Bakharwal, and Indie breeds.
