Important Library Rules
- Users must bring the Library card issued by the Library while visiting and using the Library.
- Students can reserve books at the circulation counter in case they are already issued.
- Readers shall not write upon, damage, or mark any Book, Journal, Magazine, or other material belonging to the Library. Any reader observing damage must immediately inform the Library help desk.
- Books taken for reference from the stack area must be kept on the table and not merged back on the shelves.
- Reference Books, Rare Books, Thesis, Periodicals (loose numbers and bound volumes) and other reading materials are for consultation only and are not to be issued except with the special permission of the Librarian.
- Borrowers must examine the physical condition of books before borrowing; otherwise, they will be held responsible for any damage noticed later or at the time of returning.
- Personal Books / Checked-out Books are not allowed for consultation/reference inside the Library.
- Borrowers are responsible for materials issued to them. If any item is lost, an immediate report must be made to Library staff.
- Return on time: Borrowers are expected to return books on or before the due date; otherwise, an overdue charge per day per volume will be levied.
- The Library shall fix penalties for lost, damaged, mutilated, or defaced books. Defaulters may be suspended from the use of the Library.
- Loss of library books must be reported immediately to the Librarian. Borrowers will be asked to pay for or replace the book lost or returned in damaged condition.
- If required books are unavailable, users may submit recommendation lists through their Head of Department for purchase by the Library.
- As the University Library is a place of study and research, users must maintain an atmosphere of quietness and dignity inside the Library.
- No food and beverages are allowed in the Library.
- Before examinations or leaving the University, library books must be returned along with dues, if any, to obtain the no-dues certificate from the Library.

- Keep your valuables with you at all times
- Keep your cell phone in silent mode
- Maintain silence as far as possible
- Bring only water in a covered container
- Show ID / Library card on entry or borrowing books
- Exit the library when the closing bell sounds
- Use the suggestion box for your ideas
- Respect Library Rules & Regulations

- Don’t carry bags inside the library
- Don’t disturb others with chatting or phone calls
- Don’t bring food / drink into the library
- Don’t bring valuables (library is not responsible)
- Don’t use computer lab for unethical purposes
- Don’t damage or mark any library property
- Don’t lose hope — library staff will help you
- Don’t sleep inside the library
- Don’t install/download any software on computers
- Don’t remove any electronic library devices
- Don’t move chairs, tables, books without permission
- Don’t replace books on shelves — keep on table after reading
