The President's Message
Tantia University- the first and pioneering university in the North Rajasthan, instituted by the Act of the State Government in the year 2013, has marched a long journey with clarity of vision and goals set to be achieved. I am happy to place on record that the university has achieved its targets beyond set limits.
Having taken over the charge of the office of the President (Vice Chancellor) in the year 2016, I had framed certain plans and shared the same with the faculty, university administration and the management. My main thrust has been towards augmenting and mobilizing resources, including the human resource, for raising the academic standards and accelerating development of the university in different fields. I am more than happy for and thankful to whole university team for its fullest support for this cause of excellence.
Among other things, I realized that the students faced problems in seeking employment and admission elsewhere for the want of Degrees. With this in our prime view, the First Convocation of the University was organized in April 2019 during which 1068 pass out candidates up to year 2018, and Ph.Ds. up to March 2019 were awarded degrees. Seventy one Gold Medalists and 91 Ph.D. degree holders were honored on the occasion by the guests from Nepal Prof. Dr. R.K.M. Shrestha, Vice Chancellor and Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, Registrar, Kathmandu University.
Towards academic advancement, it is worth mentioning that the university has successfully introduced Post-Graduate and Research programmes in its all faculties, duly approved by different regulating agencies wherever applicable. The university has signed MOUs with other universities and academic institutions to have cooperation and exchange of ideas for mutual growth.
Creating a right research environment is yet another priority. I am happy to note that the University is seriously executing its research program as per the provisions of the University Grants Commission to the effect. In order to stimulate the academic environment and to keep the faculty and students abreast with the advances in various spheres of knowledge, the University has been organizing a number of national conferences/seminars and many more are planned in near future.
On curricular aspect, respective Boards of Studies have updated their syllabi in the light of present and future needs. Placements of the passing out students have been encouraging and more efforts are planned on this front. Special arrangements are also being focused on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities including the sports events. As a part of social commitment, good number of scholarships is granted to deserving cases.

Prof. M.M. Saxena is M.Sc. Zoology with specialization in Environmental Biology-Gold medalist, and Ph.D. from University of Jodhpur.
He has served Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner in various capacities including Dean - Faculty of Science, Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Science, Director Research, Controller of Examinations, Chairman Central Library, Coordinator UGC NET, and Coordinator Self Finance Courses besides being the Member of the Board of Management of the University.
He has over 40 years of Research, Post-graduate teaching, and Administrative experience while working with Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, University of Jodhpur, College Education- Rajasthan, and Zoological Survey of India. Prof. Saxena has been the Research Supervisor of MGS University, Bikaner, M.D.S. University, Ajmer, M.L. Sukhadiya University, Udaipur, IGNOU, New Delhi, and in this capacity he has supervised 22 Ph.D. and 26 M.Phil. scholars. He has to his credit over 150 Research Papers published in the journals of international repute, besides authoring 7 Books. Some of his books have been included as the Reference Books in the curricula of various universities. His major areas of research include Hydrobiology of the Indian desert with particular reference to freshwater sponges, leeches, molluscs, periphyton, bioindicators, trophic state indices, pollution ecology and aquaculture in addition to some minor areas like Microbiology, Entomology, Wildlife and Parasitology. He has been the Editor of OIKOASSAY- an international journal of environmental and allied sciences during 1984-2009. He is also on the Advisory Board of many scientific journals. Prof. Saxena has represented over 125 national and international seminars/conferences, many in the capacity of the Chairman and Invited Speaker. He holds the credit of organizing two International Conferences. Thrice he has been invited to deliver Invited Lectures at the prestigious Indian Science Congress. He has undertaken 4 Research Projects funded by different agencies. Prof. Saxena is the member of different academic bodies of the various universities in the country. He has been a Resource Person and examiner for different Universities in Environmental science, Zoology, Fisheries and allied disciplines.
Lately, Prof. Saxena has also been awarded Honorary Doctorate of United Nobles Rescue Services, Stockholm (Sweden) & Abuja (Nigeria) for contribution to the field of Higher Education and Honorary Doctorate of Dynamic Peace Rescue Mission International, Lagos (Nigeria) for outstanding and dedicated services as well as Humanitarian services spreading peace and humanity throughout the world. He has been awarded by a number of agencies for contribution to the field of education and environment including Life Time Achievement Award for contribution to the field of Higher Education, Global Citizens Peace Federation, Palakkad, Kerala.
