WORLD RABIES WEEK 2025
The Faculty of Veterinary Science, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, organized World Rabies Week from 22nd to 28th September 2025 under the global theme "Act Now: You, Me, Community." The week-long programme was aimed at creating awareness about rabies, promoting preventive measures, and sensitizing students, staff, and the community about their role in rabies eradication.
The following committee was constituted to conduct the World Rabies Week Programme:
1. Dr. R.P.S. Baghel, Dean, Sri Ganganagar Veterinary College- Convener
2. Dr. Ram Chander, Assistant Professor, Sri Ganganagar Veterinary College- Organizing Secretary
3. Dr. Mahender Milind, Assistant Professor, Sri Ganganagar Veterinary College- Coordinator
In addition, other staff members were included in different committees to ensure the smooth organization of the programme.
Day-wise Programme Schedule
- 22nd September 2025- A Veterinary practitioners training programme on the treatment of rabies was conducted for students, providing hands-on exposure and practical knowledge about rabies diagnosis, management, and preventive measures.
- 23rd September 2025- A quiz competition on rabies awareness was held at the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Many students participated actively, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm to learn more about rabies prevention and control.
- 24th September 2025- A staff awareness programme on rabies was organized at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Veterinary Science, where faculty and staff members were sensitized about the seriousness of rabies and their role in awareness dissemination.
- 25th September 2025- A rabies awareness rally was carried out by students and staff members of the faculty. The rally highlighted slogans and messages on rabies prevention, spreading awareness among the general public in and around the university campus.
- 26th September 2025- A poster-making competition on rabies awareness was organized for students. Several creative and informative posters were prepared by the participants, reflecting the importance of public awareness in rabies control.
- 27th September 2025- An oral competition on rabies awareness was conducted among students. The participants delivered speeches and presentations emphasizing the need for collective action to eliminate rabies.
- 28th September 2025- On the occasion of World Rabies Day, an anti-rabies vaccination programme was conducted at the Veterinary Clinical Complex of the Faculty of Veterinary Science. Dogs and other animals were vaccinated free of cost. The day also marked the closing ceremony of the World Rabies Week celebrations, highlighting the importance of community participation in the fight against rabies.
The World Rabies Week 2025 organized by the Faculty of Veterinary Science, Tantia University, proved to be a highly informative and impactful event. The activities conducted throughout the week not only enriched the knowledge of students and staff but also engaged the community in rabies awareness and prevention efforts. The celebration truly reflected the theme "Act Now: You, Me, Communit" by emphasizing shared responsibility in making the world rabies-free.
